1¢ Franklin Issue of 1851-1857, PLATE 2 Pos 28L2, (Scott #7) |
Scott #7 Relief B, Blue, Type II Issued both imperforate and perforated. Perforated copies are more scarce. The plating diagrams indicate that no plating marks exist on this position. The GUIDE DOT may be ones only option to definatively plating singles of this position. It should be noted that Ornament "B" is incomplete or short. Though not unique, as 22L, 24, 25L, 27L, 28L, 29L2 and 30L2 share this feature, it could prove useful in eliminating other B relief positions. Strip of 3, 27L2, 28L2 and 29L2 Notes: The outer line of Ornament M is weak or missing. Plating diagrams show a break (red arrow below) above Ornament L. |
