1¢ Franklin Issue of 1851-1857, PLATE 2
Position 24L2, (Scott #7)
Scott #7 , Blue,
Type II, Relief B
Issued both imperforate (7) and perforated (20).

PLATING NOTES:

The Neinken plating diagram indicates that no plating marks exist on this position.

In the past the GUIDE DOT location was ones only option to plating singles of this position. See FIGURE 3. (Below) for a recently confirmed plating mark.

It should be noted that Ornament "B" is incomplete or short. Though not unique, as 22L, 24, 25L 28L and 30L2 share this feature, it could prove useful in eliminating other positions.

Figure 3. (Below) Heavy irregular shaped DOT at the top of Ornament B not illustrated in the Neinken plating diagram but confirmed as consistent. This is the definitive plating mark for this position as it does not appear on any other positions on Plate 2.
