1¢ Franklin Issue of 1851-1857, PLATE 1 EARLY
Pos 29R1E (Scott #7) Type II
Scott #7 Blue,
Type II, Relief B, First Condition
Only Issued Imperforate

This particular stamp is vertical pair of 2 (See 19R1E).

Figure 1. (Below) Close up detail of a oddly shaped GUIDE DOT and small mark located below it. The violet arrow indicates a small dot that has been confirmed on another copy and is not shown in the Ashbrook / Neinken plating diagrams.

Figure 2. (Below) Red arrow indicates location of faint mark indicated in plating diagrams. The violet arrow indicates 2 small dots which are part of the design. Some positions do not show them, but many do. The presence or absence of these dots is probably helpful, but not unique to any one position.

Figure 3. (Below) A near-vertical scratch (top end is slightly E of bottom end) located just about at the edge of this left image. The upper red arrow in the photo to the right points to a small dash of ink which is presumed to be a part of the vertical scratch in question. Just below the scratch is a faint small dot (lower red arrow). These marks are not illustrated in the plating diagrams.
